Het politieke jaar is weer in volle gang. Vorige week al vonden de eerste commissievergaderingen plaats – met niet de minste onderwerpen zoals glastuinbouw en de RijnGouweLijn – en ook de eerste fractievergadering is weer van start geweest.
2010 wordt een bijzonder jaar. Op de eerste plaats natuurlijk omdat op 3 maart de gemeenteraadsverkiezingen plaatsvinden. In veel gemeenten in Zuid-Holland doet D66 (weer) mee en in een behoorlijk aantal ook voor de eerste keer. Ik heb er het volste vertrouwen in dat D66 in al die gemeenten een mooi resultaat zal boeken. Aan enthousiasme zal het niet liggen!
Daarnaast wordt het ook Provinciale Staten een uitdagend jaar omdat het inmiddels alweer het laatste ‘volle’ bestuursjaar is van deze bestuursperiode. Je zal zien dat bepaalde onderwerpen er koste wat kost er door heen zullen worden gehamerd en andere onderwerpen vooruit worden geschoven tot na de verkiezingen. Volgend jaar is D66 Zuid-Holland op dit moment – zo ongeveer half januari – de allerlaatste puntjes op de i aan het zetten ter afronding van de Statencampagne. In het afgelopen jaar heeft de ledenvergadering van de regio Zuid-Holland al het formele besluit genomen om deel te nemen aan de verkiezingen, maar ook is er een tijdpad vastgesteld (wanneer moet alles klaar zijn voor de verkiezingen?), is er een commissie ingesteld die het programma gaat schrijven en tenslotte is er een stemadviescommissie ingesteld die straks een advies moet geven aan de leden over de lijstvolgorde.
Kortom: een aantal belangrijke stappen zijn gezet, maar vast staat dat 2010 een belangrijk jaar wordt voor D66 Zuid-Holland. Ik kijk er naar uit!
